The Championships are organised under the overall authority of the Australian Radio Yachting Association Incorporated (ARYA) and conducted by the QRYA & Paradise Radio Yacht Club and it’s duly appointed Race Committee.

The regatta will be governed by The ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing for 2013-2016 (RRS) as changed by Appendix E of the RRS - Radio Controlled Boat Racing Rules, this Notice of Race (NoR), the Sailing Instructions (SI), and the 2011 RC Laser Class Rules, the Equipment Rules of Sailing (ERS) and the respective International Class Rules. The Sailing Instructions shall prevail in the event of conflict with this Notice of Race.

The 2011 RC Laser Class Rules specify four sail sizes - A,B,C,  and D. For this event competitors may use D sails produced  by John Tushingham or the authorised manufacture's for D sails. No protest will be excepted by the Race Committee on the basis of this ruling. Minimum boom length for D sails shall be 432 mm.

The competition is open to financial members of ARYA (Inc) affiliated clubs and to members of a recognized Division Member of the International Radio Sailing Association. Entry will be denied to anyone who has been expelled or is currently serving a suspension from the ARYA (inc) or any state or territory RC sailing associations affiliated with the ARYA (inc).  All boats must have a hull number issued by the National distributer or relative authority.

Boats, may be required to be presented at registration for class compliance checks at the time of registration.  No boat will be eligible to race until it has completed this process. Random spot checks may be conducted by the Race Committee throughout the event and non- compliance with the RC Laser Class Rules may result  in disqualification.
The Championships are classified under the ISAF Advertising Code Regulation 20.3.1 (b) as Category C.
The Organisers reserve the right to advertising according to Regulation 20.3

The following scoring system shall apply:
a. For single heat racing the RRS A4 will apply.
b. For multi fleet racing RRS A4 as amended by HMS and the Event Sailing Instruction shall apply.
c. Where there are less than 21 competitors, the event may be sailed in one fleet.

The Race Committee may direct that all boats entered in the event be check-measured or alternatively randomly select a number of boats to ensure compliance with the following:
a.             All components comply with the manufacturers standard specifications including rudder servo and sail       winch.
b..            No sanding or painting of hull;  and
c.             No bow bumpers.

For frequency bands other than 2.4 Ghz, each competitor shall nominate a minimum of three (3) frequencies with their entry. The listing of additional frequencies if available would be helpful. Permitted frequency bands are 27, 29, 36, 40 Mhz and 2.4 Ghz.

A Committee will be appointed to hear any protests arising from the event and may comprise competitors not involved in the incident.  RRS 61.2 and 62.2 may be replaced by a verbal notification and hearing if all parties affected by the incident agree.  The Organising Committee may specify that protests be subject to mediation, in which event this will be notified in the Event Sailing Instructions.  Protest mediation may apply to the event.

Entries will not be accepted from members who are un-financial at the close of entries. Entries may be submitted electronically but are not confirmed until the entry fee of $ 45.00has been received.  Cheques may be made payable to PRYC and marked “Not Negotiable”.  Please do not send cash. A  light lunch will be provided each day for all skippers & officials. Additional lunches may be purchased by  notifying the race committee prior to 0900 on the day.

ENTRIES CLOSE on 30 June 2014.
Late entries may be accepted until 11 July 2014 on payment of an additional fee of $10.

Trophies will be presented for 1st, 2nd & 3rd. The overall winner will also be presented with the RC Laser Championship Perpetual Trophy.
A trophy for an interstate competition will also be provided.

All those entering or taking part in these Championships do so at their own risk and responsibility.   The Australian Radio Yachting Association (Incorporated), QRYA & PRYC and any other parties involved in the organisation of this event disclaim:

Any and every responsibility whatsoever for loss, damage, injury or inconvenience that might occur to persons and goods, both ashore and on the water as a consequence of entering or participating in the Championship covered by this Notice of Race.

At all times the responsibility for the safety of their boat and themselves plus the decision to participate or continue must rest with the competitors.
